Glasses
It seems that we build
Glass to see through,
But have to keep it pristine
To continue
The clear view of
What’s beyond.
Glass lets us see,
Just as it clouds
Our vision
When not taken
Care of
Regularly.
The smudges on glass
Make our heads
Hurt as we try
To clean them up with
Our shirts.
The scratches are so visible
As we let the glasses we wear
Age into an old pair
That has seen lots
Of tear,
And maybe even
Tears.
They sit on our nose,
Precariously
Waiting to fall,
Or be pushed
Back to resting
Position.
Glass can be sharp,
But it could make us look
Sharp too.
Wear your glasses
And see with them too,
Cherish these moments
With this magnificent
Point of view.
